Though English follows many general patterns and rules, there are countless exceptions and unique situations that demand specific knowledge. One of my favourite parts of teaching is uncovering unusual or challenging questions, and helping with details where things are not quite what they appear.

There are many articles on this site that directly compare two or more very similar ideas, or answer really specific questions, often posed by my more advanced students.
